Love at First Sight in Paris

Oh my! Paris is just lovely! It didn't take much for me to excitedly say to Andy, "Oh goodness, I love Paris already!". One word I kept using to describe Paris is classy. There are narrow streets, window boxes and cobblestone streets but unlike Italy's more relaxed laundry and chipped paint, Paris is very clean, uniform and up-scale. This is a picture of the building we stayed in... loved it!

We arrived in Paris in the late afternoon of August 16th. After meeting with our airbnb host at the apartment, picking up groceries for the next three days and freshening up, we headed out to the Eiffel Tower. We brought along a bottle of fantastic French red wine the previous Vancouver guest had left at the apartment and got take away from a local couple who own a delightful little restaurant. The fifteen minute walk to the tower was beautiful and exciting as we approached the famous Eiffel Tower! It seemed crazy to be there, eating dinner together on the lawn, watching the fountains change and tower begin to light up. It really is a beautiful construction and at night, looks beautiful and sparkles every hour on the hour!

Paris, France sure made a good decision when building this steel structure. It was only built 120 years ago (same age as our house in Hamilton ha) but attracts millions of visitors every year. After seeing it, I understand the attraction. There is so much to see in Paris but we hung out on the Eiffel Tower lawns three different times during our four night stay in Paris.

Paris, for us, was love at first sight!
