Sunsets at Sea

This post is to conclude our time on board the Celebrity Equinox, but I thought I'd also mention some of the people we spent time with. The first couple we met was Greg and Karla, energetic parents of two teens they had left home in Winnipeg. We met these two over breakfast at the B&B we stayed in the night before the cruise began. Karla is very outgoing, engaging and very kind to everyone she meets... she is also an Intermediate school teacher! We enjoyed running into them every day, taking pictures for each other and just chatting by the pool. I took lots of teaching notes from Karla... she has mentored many young teachers and had brilliant advice to share when I asked!

I introduced Aneas and Andrea in the Napoli con Amici (Naples with Friends) post. We did two tours with them, Athens and Pompeii. Aneas seems to know lots about lots so he taught us much more about our camera's capabilities... Andy has been using some Manual functions now... impressive! Andrea has taught in the States and now in Nambia, so she also had some excellent teaching advice to share. They were both fun individuals with lots of unique life experiences. It was great getting to know them both!

We spent an evening with a honeymooning couple, Phil and Sara, from England. It was towards the end of the cruise so we never crossed paths again unfortunately, but it was a hilariously, fun time! We hit it off with these two right away, asking about their recent wedding and joking naturally. Phil was the epitome of classic British humour... Andy and I have been laughing about his stories and overall persona ever since!.

We are so thankful for our time on the Mediterranean cruise. It was such a great break from the backpacking pace... and couldn't have come at a better time in our travels. At one point we admitted to each other that we found ourselves looking forward to the sea days more than the port days haha... I think we were tired! Not only was it a refreshing, restful pace, but it was also a fantastic way to get to see Greece and Turkey. The cruise was our big splurge on this budget-tight trip, but in our opinion, it was worth it and felt like our second honeymoon! Here are some sunset pictures from the last two nights at sea...
