Roots

When we were in Austria, particularily in Salzburg, we began saying things like, "It'd be cool to come in the winter", "A full year here would be sweet!", "Maybe we could live here next summer", "We could work for a camp", etc. OK, we got a little carried away haha. Austria has a way of tempting a return visit... with its lakes, mountains, locals, central European location, etc. Looking back, I see how these thoughts so easily came about. Why wouldn't we want to live in such a beautiful country?! Or anywhere else in Europe?!

Answer: At this time in our lives, we're quite certain God wants us in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He has graciously rooted us there... with a church we want to serve with, our families and friends in close proximity, a neighbourhood to engage with, a teaching position for the fall and a social work education Andy enjoys. During our first year of marriage, we have continually felt overwhelmed by God's perfect timing and provision. He is so good and we desperately want to be where He has placed us and is continuing to guide us.

Point is, for us, it would take much more than beautiful mountains or a central Europe location to have us move. It would take some clear direction from the Lord. I have been homesick a bit in the last week or two... I miss our families, friends, hosting, Muskoka, etc. We will be SO excited to come home and reconnect but for the time being, we are asking God to continue to use this precious time to continue to build our marriage and draw us closer to Him! It's such a blessing to have this time away together. We are beyond thankful and living it up!
