Nice is Nice

Julia wrote that title, I think my "Dad humour" is rubbing off on her.

Anyway, after stopping in for a quick visit at Monaco, we went to Nice, thus covering the two main cities of the "French Riviera", the Mediterranean coastline of France. The first night we were tired from lugging our packs around Monaco so we hung out at the hostel, watched Usain Bolt kill it in the 200 (how the heck do you win an Olympic sprint while going at three quarters speed?), eating an amazing Chicken salad (made by the chef at our awesome hostel) and drinking the amazing Belgian beer we found in Belgium, Leffe.

The second day we went to the Beach, which the French Riviera is famous for, after visiting the famous Flower market and seeing a dazzling display of bouquets. Nice's beach is pebbly, so it's not the greatest to lie or walk on, BUT we did enjoy that we didn't get sand all over us and our stuff. The water was absolutely beautiful. It was a very relaxing day.

At night we decided to sample the French cuisine, which turned out to be a bit disappointing. The whole menu was in French, and when we saw the word entree, and the large price, we thought this was the main course. It turned out that this was actually an appetizer. Mine was basically a pile of prosciutto on a plate. We also both felt a bit sick after our meals. This did make me realize how few food problems we have had on this trip - everything has been amazing.

We finished off the night by catching a couple of street break dance shows, and finding an awesome fireworks display along the beach.

Nice sure was very ni...er...lovely.
