How We Roll

We are in a good travelling groove together. Before leaving, I had booked all our accommodations, the cruise, our Eurail pass, flights, car rental, and chosen which trains we would take each day. Together, Andy and I also created a chart on Google Docs that listed each city, how many days we had and a list of things we would want to see there. I had hoped to be a bit more detailed in our day to day itinerary, but never got around to filling in many of the "tour and explore" labels in our itineraries.

We are glad I didn't get to this! When we arrive in a new city, we check into our hostel or air bnb and then create a solid plan for our time in that city. This doesn't take long at all (and it is nice to sit for a little break after making the trek from the station to hostel) because there are tons of useful tour pamphlets, knowledgeable front desk staff or locals AND, of course, our own handy chart.

This way of travelling gives us a solid framework but lots of room for spontainaity. It works super well with each of our personalities. It's also been good for our marriage to learn to problem solve respectfully, make plans the other will enjoy and rejoice when working as a team. It's not always so positive, but we are learning and asking God to continue molding each of us and our marriage during this trip.
