Lost Upon Arrival

We arrived in Berlin at 11:15pm (I should say 23:15... it seems the 24 hour clock is used much more in Europe but maybe that's mainly for train itineraries). Once out of the station, we had no idea what bus to take and everything was written in German. It seems German words have 12 letters on average... they're huge!

Long story short, it took us 1.5 hours to ask questions, bus, walk, bus, walk, climb three flights of stairs and arrive at the hostel desk feeling exhausted and relieved. Guess what? We had gone to the WRONG hostel. We were originally booked at that hostel but they had to cancel our reservation a month ago so I booked elsewhere. I forgot. SHOOT!

So after another 1.5 hours of attempting the subway, asking more German-speaking people directions, walking, being frustrated, bussing, walking, etc. we arrived at our hostel just after 2:00 a.m.

This frustrating, tiresome situation was a true test to our marriage... and we failed. Haha I almost want to laugh when looking back... the two of us in mostly empty city streets bantering over each decision, bringing out the worst in each other and looking nothing like a team! Over breakfast the next morning we vented about the situation, addressed our personal issues, prayed about it and made some goals for our next marriage-testing situation!
